Sagrantino is the top wine of Umbria made with an indigenous red grape variety unique to the Montefalco area. The vines grow around the ancient hill town of Montefalco in central Umbria; Sagrantino (from “sacred”) was born as sweet wine used predominantly for church service and is now the dry icon wine that best reflects this region. It is presented with very dark red colour, prominent tannins and acids, great flavor and aftertaste and a very long life – very close to bold Napa-style wines. The wine consists of at least 95% Sagrantino grape and the remaining percentage is a mix of different red grapes. Let me create your private wine tour & tasting experience in this less beaten region of Italy for a truly fabulous wine day out.
My mission is to deliver one-of-a-kind experiences that go beyond client’s expectations, cultivating awareness, understanding and appreciation of wines - and Tuscany is a destination that should be on every wine & food lover’s list.
